Lee Evans - So What Now? [TV Series] (2001) Reviews

Lee Evans - So What Now? [TV Series] (2001)
Created primarily as a showcase for madcap physical comedian Lee Evans, Lee Evans - So What Now? is a marvelous excuse for the actor to freak out in ways Jim Carrey never thought possible. The series begins with Lee kicked to the street by his significant other. After he meets up with his rotund, ignorant pal Stuart (Steven O'Donell), they pathetically search for a place to call their own. Through a series of mix-ups, they wind up renting from the frazzled, neurotic trend-meister Heather (Sophie Thompson). No matter what life offers them, the three seem unable to deal with a modern existence. Past friends, family members, and simple grocery shopping all amount to dilemmas the trio simply can't manage. Lee is just as apt to contort himself into a human pretzel as he is to give a friend the time of day, and that's the show's charm. The premiere season (eight episodes) of Lee Evans - So What Now? was broadcast on the BBC in 2001, and on BBC America in 2002. ~ Tim DiGravina, Rovi
