Lennart Nilsson is an experimental photographer from Sweden who became well-known for his remarkable endoscopic photographs of human embryos growing in their mothers' wombs. Nilsson's remarkable photos and the techniques that made them possible became the subject of an episode of the PBS science series Nova in 1983, Nova: The Miracle of Life. Nova: Life's Greatest Miracle catches up with Nilsson almost two decades later, as we see the latest innovations in fetal photography, as well as learning about the most recent advances in embryonic and fetal research and fertilization techniques. This is an amazing video. I learned some new things, and I came away with the thought of how each person is meant to be. Does contain nudity (Which I thought a little might have been unnecessary.), and doesn't pull any punches. John Lithgow's commentary was very good, but left me a bit cold in spots. Questionable for children. (Has some sponsor commercials.)

I am one that loves to watch non-fiction and discovery type programs. I got this movie as a learning educational movie and was happy with the rental. My seven year old has been asking a ton of questions about birth and how babies are made. My intention was not to have it watch it at first as I wanted to screen it and see if it was too graphic. It was not too graphic for his eyes and he it answered a ton of his questions. The graphics are amazing and to see first hand inside of a womb and the events of conception and embryo growing was amazing. I did learn quite a bit from this. On a seven year old's perspective it does speak of DNA and scientific things that were a little over his head, but he learned first hand the photos and what it is like when a woman is pregnant and a woman is carrying a child. I was very satisfied with this rental.
