Masked serial killer Michael Myers makes his seventh appearance in the eighth installment of this long-running slasher series. Although the climax of the previous installment, Halloween: H20, depicted heroine Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) finally finishing off her brother/tormentor, the opening sequence of Halloween: Resurrection reveals that Laurie actually beheaded the wrong guy. Now confined to a mental institution, she quickly falls victim to her brother and longtime foe (played this time out by Brad Loree). Cut to Haddonfield, IL, where a sextet of college students is assembling for the production of an online reality show in which they'll spend the night locked up in the killer's childhood home being filmed by dozens of cameras and broadcast over the Internet. Presided over by fast-talking producer Freddie Harris (Busta Rhymes) and his girlfriend/business partner, Nora Winston (Tyra Banks), the players range from fame-hungry Jen (Katee Sackhoff) and food-obsessed Rudy (Sean Patrick Thomas) to rakish Jim (Luke Kirby) and cerebral Donna (Daisy McCrackin). As these photogenic youngsters hunt for clues about Michael's tortured childhood, engage in on-camera sexual escapades, and discover the phony props planted by Freddie and Nora, Michael arrives to stalk them relentlessly one by one. To complicate matters, Freddie himself is skulking around in a Michael Myers mask hoping to scare up some ratings. As the bodies begin to pile up, thoughtful cast member Sara (Bianca Kajlich) manages to survive thanks to wireless email instructions from high-school dork Myles (Ryan Merriman), but even the latest technology might not be enough to outwit Michael Myers. Halloween: Resurrection was directed by Rick Rosenthal, who previously helmed 1981's Halloween 2. The cast also features Thomas Ian Nicholas of American Pie and Billy Kay of L.I.E. ~ Brian J. Anything dealing with Michael Myers, I love it.

The movie itself is one of the better of the installments. 1 & 2 were the best. However the DVD has a cool feature. In the movie the team wears cameras to show the viewers what is happening. A special feature of the DVD is that they show you the whole thing as the web-viewers saw it. It is very scary and fun to see the movie in this different context.

An okay movie. The movie would be better without Busta Rhymes.

I've recently viewed all the big three classic American slasher franchises (Friday the 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street, and Halloween) in order, and this one was so bad, I couldn't even finish it. Spoilers below. From the pre-opening credits "let's just get rid of her as quick as we can" death of Jamie Lee Curtis, to the hackneyed (and by now extremely dated) gimmicky premise, this movie - although competently executed - is basically an excuse to get a new group of nameless teens in proximity to a recognizable knife-wielding licensed character. The sixty minutes or so of the film that I was able to withstand added nothing to the franchise's overall storyline, and the stunt casting of Busta Rhymes and Tyra Banks as two characters who survived waaaaaay too long made sure that the entire thing (or most of it at least) was well-supplied with high school theatre-level acting. The next film arrived in my mailbox a couple of days later, and I sent it back unopened. Ugh.

You may not belive your eyes when you see the outcome of Curtis' and Meyers' battle in this one. I'm not sure if this series can get any worse, but concidering that Myers' has been attacked and killed countless time in every single way possible and still opens he eyes, I know it will.

Should have left the plot line alone after H20. I thought that was a great way to finish the series off. What's next? Michael in Crio for the return in 2079?

Probably better than some of the other sequels in this story line. Nothing compared to the orig. and Halloween II. Wouldn't bother renting again, instead just rent the Original and #2.

Anyone who knows me well, knows that I am a horror buff, and that I loved the Friday the 13th movies and some of the Halloween movies--namely the original and Part II. Halloween H2O came along and I was simply amazed at how well that movie was done, considering that Jamie Lee came back and was able to revitalize an 80's icon. Now we this movie, I would suppose to keep the franchise going. I'm all for that, don't get me wrong. But in this movie we are supposed to believe that what happened at the end of H20 was a mix-up and now Jamie Lee's character is in a loonie bin. Say what? Her character was always strong. And now she is dead? You know, if you wanted to do something horrific, instead of illogical, you should have had Jamie Lee's character turn psycho and let Michael Myers live through her, rather than this lame movie we're given. The acting in this movie was terrible and boring.

When i rented this i was excited because i saw H20 and decied to rent Resurection. I have to say ive never seen a more terrible movie then this. I mean 1 they killed off Jamie lee Curtis in like the 1st 15 min. 2nd Having Busta Rhymes, Tyra Banks and Ryan Merriman in it. 3rd it was boring and wasn't scary at all. you know when i rent this kinda crap i expect more than what i saw in Halloween:Ressurection. For gods sake save the 1hour and 29 minutes of your life.
