In a hermetically sealed post-apocalyptic urban environment several centuries hence, Logan 5 (Michael York) and his friend Francis 7 (Richard Jordan) lead unquestioning lives of hedonism. Entertainment comes in the form of casual sexual liaisons and gladiatorial games in which those who do not wish to undergo euthanasia at the age of 30 vie for the illusory chance of continued life. As "sandmen," Logan and Francis are charged with tracking down and killing "runners" -- those citizens who will submit to neither "renewal" (a peaceful death) nor "carousel" (a gladiatorial battle) when their time comes. When Logan grows intrigued by a beautiful young woman, Jessica 6 (Jenny Agutter), who plans to become a runner, he is forced to question the fundamental principles of his society. And when his superiors force him to pose as a runner himself to weed out Jessica's guerilla underground, Logan finds himself fleeing the city in search of a mythical place called Sanctuary, where people are allowed to live out their natural spans. ~ Brian J. If you liked Fahrenheit 451, you'll also love Logan's Run. They both have the same pace and feel. Eye Candy everywhere like taking a step back in time.

For being 40 years old the movie has held up very well. My only complaint was that it needed more time to tell the story - another 30 to 45 minutes would have really fleshed out the characters.

For a movie that was created in the mid 70's, it is one of the best in it's genre even by today's standards. Due to it's timing of release, the filming is due credit for it's inventiveness in creating the World of the Dystopic Aegist Society. The "Renewed" version that is now in production is supposed to follow the book where life must end at 21, Francis 7 is the leader of the Underground Movement for Sanctuary that is not on this planet. Read the book by William F. Nolan, it's incredible. Michael Anderson's version of Logan's Run is Paramount. I recommend this movie to anyone that loves genuine science fiction and put aside the special effects for what lies beneath. Genuine Storytelling.

This was my introduction to futuristic sci-fi many years ago. It is a great classic. I can't remember how many times I have watched it but it just keeps getting better

The sci-fi element of the movie was fine. However, we picked it out because of the PG rating. Thought it would be a good Sci-fi movie to watch with the kids. The PG rating is inappropriate, and the content was unsuitable. There were many scenes promoting sex and drugs which were subtle, yet the nudity was not. There were several scenes with nudity in them. So, just be aware this is NOT a family friendly sci-fi flick.

Terrible acting, awful special effects, gaudy outfits and a dopey script combine to make one of the worst movies I've ever watched. I can't believe I actually sat through the whole thing.

Notoce a strange taste in your mouth tonight as your watching the television after dinner. You taste something strange and it's seems to be a bit of brain coming out as you watch this movie. No more feeling ill, you can have a simple transplant. Make sure you understand the payment terms; they are truly killers. I won't go any further, you have to watch this to see how advanced mankind has become. The one major flaw in this is the collection process. I would have set a timer to go off and then just go out and collect those units that needed to be refurbished. Major flaw two, they were going down the same road that Atlantis did. Science before GOD, the monoliths of all drilling rigs sit's on the upper rim of Atlantis and I suspect GOD will not cause but allow it to blow out with left over equipment still running. . That's a story in itself. Don't plan to go to sleep after you watch this; talk it out !
