Clothes make the superspy in this high-energy action comedy. Jimmy Tong (Jackie Chan) is a well-meaning but clumsy New York City cab driver who is tapped by Steena (Debi Mazar), associate to multi-millionaire Clark Devlin (Jason Isaacs), for a new job as Devlin's personal limo driver. After a mysterious accident lands Devlin in the hospital, Tong learns that his new boss has a secret -- when he's not wheeling and dealing in high finance, Devlin is also a secret agent for the CSA, a top-level security agency. The secret to Devlin's success as a spy is his trademark tuxedo, a suit which is loaded with special gadgets which turns him into a high-tech fighting machine. After Tong dons the tuxedo and is transformed into a martial arts master, he takes over for Devlin and discovers that the agent's injuries didn't happen by accident. As Tong tries to chase down a handful of international super-villains bent on world conquest, he has to deal with Devlin's new partner, Del Blaine (Jennifer Love Hewitt), a CSA rookie who is just as baffled by her new assignment as Tong. The Tuxedo marked the feature-film debut for director Kevin Donovan, who had previously won international acclaim for his work in television commercials. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

The movie is fun, up tempo and has you feeling for Jackie's character. There are always 2 plots to JC's movies. In this one, it is the power of the tux bringing a man out of his shell with the help of his friends. He makes his friends after a 'misunderstanding'. I never would have thought that Jennifer Love Hewitt could pull off a role as an action hero. She does an excellent job. To be honest, I would like to see her in more of these types of roles. She plays a strong female role model well. This is an action comedy spy thriller fantasy (A tux makes the man). My rating of 4 stars is based on fight movies. For me, for is a must see, anything higher is a definite buy for your collection. I bought this after seeing it in the theater on first run.

Not really a bad film, and I thought the story is kinda of funny and has tons of potential. I guess Jacky has improved his acting a little over the years. However the issue is that there's absolutely no chemistry between him and Jennifer L. Hewitt. IMO, Jen has done alright as a sidekick, but can't imagine them being a couple, and so some of the scences seem meaningless.

Lame. The editing is half-assed (notice the digitally enhanced green eyes on the sales girl in the bug store - whoops! now they're brown; oh, now they are green again.) The humor in many of these slapstick martial arts movies is usually good enough for a few laughs, but the attempts at humor in Tuxedo are mostly based on cheezy misogynistic trucker humor. It's as though the director tried to squeeze in as many cleavage shots as possible to compensate for the poor writing. It was so painful that I actually had to stop watching, and I generally pride myself on being able to make it through the worst of films.

Jackie Chan as always gives his best. Jennifer Love Hewitt was fun to watch. The problem with this movie is the apparent felt need of the writers to include a more crude and raunchy Americanism into the normally clean Jackie Chan movie. Jackie has always been a more enjoyable family film maker. The writers felt it necessary to include half naked bimbo's into Jackie's naturally comedic antics. These cheap tricks conflict with Jackie's quality entertainment and should have been left out. Great idea for a movie, but poor writing.

Hmm, The Tuxedo is a very dumb movie. I only rented it for Jason Isaacs and he was only in the beginning of the movie, plus a little bit at the end. He was awesome, of course, but the rest of the movie was dumb; I fast forwarded through a lot of it.

Don't waste your monthly membership fee. DON'T waste paying 3$ + to rent it at the store. DON'T buy this poor excuse for a film. Save your money and don't regret the 1 hour and 39 minutes of your life you'll never get back by seeing "The Tuxedo!" This movie was not funny and Jackie Chan really needs to try something a little more serious with better co-stars. As for the martial arts, Jackie appears to have finally sold out to the use of Wire-Fu. He's older and should have stayed with the basics by relying on his excellent training from his days of Dance and straight forward martial arts. His older movies reflect his skills with simplicity. Jennifer Hewitt should stick to her cleavage enhancing "Scream" movies. She's not worth more. The movie was not even funny by Saturday Morning Cartoon Standards; which is what the film felt like. I lasted about 20 minutes and shut it off! If you are looking for a decent Jackie Chan Movie, go back to the "Big Brawl" or the "Protector."
