When a pair of bright-but sociopathic teens conspires to commit the perfect murder, a troubled cop teams with her eager new partner to solve the case that left the community in fear and the police without a clue. High school ladies' man Richard Haywood (Ryan Gosling) and outcast Justin Pendleton (Michael Pitt) have no motive to commit murder, but they soon conspire to choose a random victim and pin the crime on local pot dealer Ray (Chris Penn), under the guise that the police will never suspect them of such a brutal act. Determined Det. Cassie Merriweather (Sandra Bullock) is assigned to the case, and quickly becomes suspicious of the elusive teens despite the doubts expressed by her superiors and her lack of solid evidence. Soon entering into a dangerous test of wills with the increasingly desperate and dangerous teens, her investigation leads her down a disturbing path that will test her skills as a detective and her will to survive. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

Sandra Bullock is always entertaining. She plays a role here unlike most of her other movies. The suspense at the end is very good!

Murder by Numbers is decent but has a flawed plot. But the acting is truly excellent, especially the performances form Sandra Bullock and Ryan Gosling. 7 out of 10

This movie had it's good points. There was definitely a strange homosexual undertone between the two highschool male killers which suprised me. Sandra Bullock is decent in her cheesy role. This movie is worth a watch.

Pretty good flick. Good cast and plot. Sandra Bullock is always nice to see. It was interesting to see things develop. Almost from the start we know who dunnit and we also get to know the good guys. It's fun to watch them maneuver to the final reckoning. The character development has room for improvement, but it's generally a very entertaining film.

I really did like this movie even though Sandra Bullock's character seemed a little "off kilter". She seems to play a specfic type of person when she's performing as a cop that's totally different from her other performances. I did like the suspenseful ending. Ryan Gosling is really devilish in his role.

I thought this was a good movie. I have to admit, the only reason I put it in my queue was because Ryan Gosling was in it. It turned out to be pretty interesting. I would recommend at least renting it and giving it a try.

The only reason I rented this was because Ryan Gosling has always impressed me as an actor. His acting is good but although it starts out well, the movie falls apart half way through and turns into a cheap thriller. They are actually fighting on a rickety porch at the end.

Blah blah blah, Sandra Bullock (great surname) can't act in the film either, still very manly. Easy to see why it wasn't very popular.

I'm usually pretty generous with my movie reviews but I'm sorry this movie was just completely horrible. One of the top 5 worst movies I've seen in the past few years. I tried watching it all the way through just to see how it ended but the "climax" was so boring I finally decided to just turn it off. Stay away from this one.

I have never liked Sandra Bullock, and this movie is another example why. Total waste of her so called talents
