William Shakespeare's tragedy of love, jealousy, and murder was adapted for the operatic stage by Giuseppe Verdi, and this home video release preserves a stellar production of Verdi's interpretation. Staged in Germany in 1974, this version of Otello stars Jon Vickers as the jealous Moor, Mirella Freni as his wife Desdemona, and Peter Glossop as the scheming Iago.
