Attack Force Z (1982)
Member Rating:
Force Z is a crack Australian military corps during World War II. When a plane carrying a high-profile Japanese defector crash-lands somewhere in the South Pacific, it's up to Force Z to find it. Complicating matters is a traitor in the good guys' midst. John Philip Law heads the cast of Attack Force Z, but some video companies have bestowed top billing upon Mel Gibson, originally listed 3rd in the cast. The film also features an early leading peformance by Sam Neill. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

For an old movie it was ok. You can tell the director was new in the business without any experience in making things seem real. The editing/cut person I hope has improved if not this person needs to get out of the movie business altogether. The story line was good, the acting as good, the biggest problem in this movie was the directors fault and how the editing/cutting it was not smooth.

Early Mel Gibson, made just after Mad Max, but released later. Not bad for a low budget, limited cast war flick. Very good for Gibson fans... others might want to keep looking.

Unless you are an early Mel Gibson junkie, pass on this one. It is probably the single worst Mel movie I have seen. I got it because I have seen several early movies of his and liked them. This one needed a lot more help than it got.

only rented this because I read the only review which gave it all those stars. Entitled to his opinion, but for the life of me I don't see what he based it on! My advice, pass on this movie.
