Camp X (2001) Reviews

During World War II, British, American, and Canadian military and intelligence operations joined forces to create a training facility where undercover spies were shown the ropes for ferreting out information on Axis intelligence agents. The training center, known as "Camp X," later became the model for the "spy school" where O.S.S. and C.I.A. agents were prepared for their work in the field, and the camp's graduates include Ian Fleming, the British author who created the James Bond series, and noted advertising man David Ogilvy. Camp X is a film that reveals the history behind the camp and its operations through recently declassified documents and photographs, as well as interviews with camp attendees. Camp X was produced for Canadian television, but also received a handful of theatrical engagements, and was screened at the 2001 Palm Springs Film Festival. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi
