Steven Spielberg's phenomenally successful sci-fi adventure thriller is graced by state-of-the-art special effects from the team of Stan Winston, Phil Tippett and Michael Lantieri from George Lucas's Industrial Light & Magic. The film follows two dinosaur experts -- Dr. Alan Grant (Sam Neill) and Dr. Ellie Sattler Laura Dern) -- as they are invited by eccentric millionaire John Hammond (Richard Attenborough) to preview his new amusement park on an island off Costa Rica. By cloning DNA harvested from pre-historic insects, Hammond has been able to create living dinosaurs for his new Jurassic Park, an immense animal preserve housing real brachiosaurs, dilophosaurs, triceratops, velociraptors, and a Tyrannosaur Rex. Accompanied by cynical scientist Ian Malcolm (Jeff Goldblum), who is obsessed with chaos theory, and Hammond's two grandchildren (Ariana Richards and Joseph Mazzello), they are sent on a tour through Hammond's new resort in computer controlled touring cars. But as a tropical storm hits the island, knocking out the power supply, and an unscrupulous employee (Wayne Knight) sabotages the system so that he can smuggle dinosaur embryos out of the park, the dinosaurs start to rage out of control. Grant then has to bring Hammond's grandchildren back to safety as the group is pursued by the gigantic man-eating beasts. ~ Paul Brenner, Rovi

For all you young kids coming up who haven't seen this flick, add it to your queue now! I was 12 when it came out and it blew me away. It's still fun to watch. I wish Laura Dern had been in move movies, she's really hot.

An incredible, suspenseful and thrill-packed film that is one of Steven Spielberg's best films, if not his best!

Among movie scores, this one probably is the most natively beautiful of any. Bravo, John Williams for capturing the wonder, mystery, innocence, exploitation, love, tragedy, and wonder again in a masterpiece of music theme scoring. Saw the movie again, 18-years after its release. One is struck by how the film subject matter that seemed exotic such a long yet short time ago (with genome research, etc.), are now daily news items. And how quickly the cutting edge computer hardware then looks old now. Now ... where's the BLU-RAY version ...???

You have never seen this movie?! Where have you been? This is my all-time favorite movie. I have probably seen it 10 times. It is the ultimate adventure movie. More like Raiders of the Lost Ark than Friday the 13th. Exceptional storyline, acting, special effects, thrills, chills and excitement. You don't want it to end. I can't rave about this movie enough. It is a MUST SEE.

Jurassic Park is absolutely one of the best films I've ever seen. Everything about this thunderously awesome dinosaur is just wicked cool especially the special effects. Jurassic Park never lets its fans down especially me.
