The novel of the same name by author Tom Savage becomes this horror film starring Marley Shelton as Kate Davies. Kate's in a troubled relationship with journalist Adam Carr (David Boreanaz), a problem drinker, but she receives support from her best friends, the same four girls she's known since grade school: Paige Prescott (Denise Richards), Dorothy Wheeler (Jessica Capshaw), Lily Voight (Jessica Cauffel), and Shelly Fisher (Katherine Heigl). When Shelly is murdered and the other girls begin receiving gruesome Valentine's Day cards signed "JM," they begin to speculate that the killer could be an awkward schoolmate named Jeremy Melton, whom they once teased mercilessly at a school dance, leading to his beating and humiliation. Dorothy in particular is afraid that a false accusation she made against Jeremy might be causing him to seek bloody retribution, but the macho detective (Fulvio Cecere) assigned to investigate Shelly's murder has some other suspects in mind. As the body count is racked up and Dorothy's lavish Valentine's Day party approaches, Kate begins to suspect that the true identity of Jeremy, who likely underwent plastic surgery to alter his appearance, could hit very close to home. Valentine is the second slasher flick from Urban Legend (1998) director Jamie Blanks. ~ Karl Williams, Rovi

Blood: 1/2 Cheese Factor: 5 Acting: 2 1/2 Overall: 3 1/2 Yes this movie is full of cliches and is fairly predictable but when it comes down to it...I've seen a lot worse horror movies. And you know I must say I somewhat enjoyed this movie, although its obvious the main female character, Marley Shelton (Kate), cares more about flipping her hair than nailing the role of her character. The lack of blood was disappointing but atleast we had something else to look at, Denise Richards....shes flawless! Check this film out with an open mind.

This movie is great for the suspense lovers. Yes, it had a lot of cliches but it was still pretty good. I'm not going to spoil the ending, but there is a twist that will leave your mouth hanging wide open!

I like the way it ended and had alot of suspense. It seems like a normal murder mystery but has a gripping climax.

I got this movie because I remember watching this a long time ago. It still has it same shall I say dullness but it still kept me interested til the end. It had a good ending to it! I would recommend it to anyone. It should be watched at least once.

I saw this when it was released but just recently saw it again. I really enjoyed this movie. Has some chessy parts but I really think it was a good movie.

Great basic cheesy horror movie. Similar to the 80's cheesy horror movies. Loved it. Not a big Denise Richards fan, but love David Boreanaz

This movie wasn't that bad but it definitely wasn't the best. I liked the cast, it's probably what inspired me to rent it. I am a total Buffy freak so David Boreanaz was key, Denise Richards....I really liked Wild Things....who doesn't like Katherine Heigl?....Marley Shelton: Sugar & Spice! This movie wasn't bad, I just think it could have been a lot better. The plot has a lot of potential and the cast was amazing, no more predictable murder sequences please? Make me think!

This movie reminded me that scary movies aren't scary anymore. It was still a movie that kept me watching til the end. (And the end is quite good!)

I liked this one. The opening of the movie was excellent and later went slightly down hill. This is a pretty good modern horror movie which is hard to find since most newer slasher movies are horrible. Acting and characters are pretty good. Slasher fans should give it a try.

The acting was ok, but could have been better considering all the popular names in the movie. A typical slasher flick but with purpose, it's not nice to make fun of people you never know when they are going to snap. I found the end very suprising, first you think its him then you think its not. You'll just have to watch and see.
