Biographical information is mixed with fiction to create compelling stories reflecting turning points in the lives of revered art world figures. In the program Monet: Shadow and Light, the influential impressionist learns some important lessons about family from a young muse named Daniel. Daniel helps Monet discover new directions in art during the period prior to Monet's fame. Other videos in the series include Mary Cassatt: American Impressionist, Rembrandt: Fathers and Sons, and Degas and the Dancer.
