Advertising executive Fred Bolton (Dean Jones) is under pressure from his boss Tom Dugan (Fred Clark) to come up with a new ad campaign for a wealthy client. Fred's daughter Helen (Ellen Janov) loves to ride horses, so her father buys her one to tie the equine into the profitable advertisement. Nearly a third of the film's length is devoted to a Washington D. C. horse show in which Helen participates. Morey Amsterdam, Kurt Russell, Lloyd Bochner, and Diane Baker also appear in this Disney production. Shown with the animated Winnie The Pooh, the cartoon was far more popular and memorable than The Horse In The Gray Flannel Suit, which is one of the studio's less-inspiring efforts. ~ Dan Pavlides, Rovi

Back in the days when a family comedy meant a funny movie appropriate for everyone, movies like the Horse in the Gray Flannel Suit were released. This is not by any means the best of such films, but it is fun for occasional viewing. The story does drag on a bit longer than I would have liked it too, and the leading young actress wasn't anywhere near ready to be acting, but its still recommended for a fun, enjoyable, clean movie.

I really enjoyed seeing a good old fashioned movie with a happy ending. The DC Horse show footage was especially nice and added relevance to the movie. Seeing Kurt Russell as the young Disney star again brought back fond memories.

Classic Dean Jones comedy with family warmth and love of animals to top it all off. The horses are gorgeous and the performances are endearing. I love it and wish it was for sale. Pop some popcorn and have a fun evening!
