I agree with Chris, good animation, solid story. Profanity was nice for a change, not unnecessary and fit the mood of the movie. Very good theme, kind of wanted to cheer for the bad guy because their mission was kind of the benefit of mankind.

Felt too short, and many of the concepts and characters felt way too underdeveloped. Like Rahsaan I found myself rooting for the bad guy, but after he's foiled you're still left with this all-powerful computer system and tension with the Biodroids just kind of hanging out there - along with no resolution or development of the film's central premise of a society being oppressive by being too perfect.

Appleseed has some slow spots. Overall it is a beautiful movie! My husband and I are not anime people, but this movie is enjoyable and graphically beautiful!

I dunno, it felt rushed and incomplete. I love anime, and I think the animation was good for its time, but... It just didn't float my boat. I'm going to try Appleseed 2004 and see if my opinion changes.

Eh...just scanned through as it wasn't keeping my mind interested. BUT, now that I have seen some of other viewer's opinions, I think I will rent it again someday when I have more time.

This is a good, solid anime in the same style as Final Fantasy: Advent Children. The animation is beautiful and the plot is good. I guess the main problem I have with it is that I feel that both this movie and FF:AC take themselves way too seriously. It's probably just my Western sensibilities getting in the way of objectivity, but both movies feel just a little too artsy for what is essentially supposed to be an action anime.

Appleseed is one of the anime films from the past that, represents the golden age of anime before it became so common and cliche.

This movie was kinda far out. It was pretty good for an anime film though. It dealt with some real life situations.
