Dinosaur (2000)
Member Rating:
Walt Disney Pictures redefined computer animation with this technically accomplished fantasy of prehistoric life, combining live-action backgrounds with computer-generated animals. After a pterodactyl snatches a dinosaur's egg and accidentally drops it while flying away, the egg is rescued by a family of lemurs, who keep it warm until it hatches. They raise the baby dinosaur, named Aladar, as one of their own, and as he grows to adulthood, Aladar protects the primates that he has come to regard as his family. When a giant meteor appears in the sky, packs of dinosaurs have no idea what to make of the strange fiery light, but Aladar and the lemurs are convinced that they must escape to a safer place before the huge flaming stone destroys their home, leading Aladar to encounter his own kind for the first time. D.B. Sweeney provides the voice of Aladar; other actors in the voice cast include Joan Plowright, Julianna Margulies, Alfre Woodard, and Ossie Davis. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

My children loved the movie and I have a 2 4 and 10 yr. old. Great lesson behind. Be a leader not a follower no matter what it takes. Also being kind to others and sticking for whats right. I would definitly rent it again.

I watched this film with my daughter and I loved it! My daughter, who is nearly 4 loves dinosaurs (her favorite is Jurassic Park, though) and this was a great substitute to Jurassic Park. The opening is a tad on the sad side, but you won't produce tears, don't worry. It is a cute, funny movie that leaves you with a good warm feeling inside. Enjoy!

Wonderful visual movie, but it could be frightening for children under the age of 8. I tend to be conservative with my children viewing scary things. This movie was so life-like that the scary dinasaurs were just a little too frightening for my young children, but I will definately rent again when they get older.

I rented this from the trailer, which was great. After the first few minutes, where Disney spent all the money, my daughter and I lost interest. I think she watched maybe ten minutes, I wasted another 30 until I turned it off.
