Geoff Murphy directed this time-travel chase movie. Emilio Estevez stars as Alex Furlong, a racecar driver from 1991, who is just about to experience a deadly crash in his Formula Atlantic. But at the last moment Alex finds himself transported to the streets of New York in 2009. He is saved from certain death and zapped into the future by 21st-century bounty hunter Vacendak (Mick Jagger), who wants to take over Alex's body. Alex escapes Vacendak's clutches and decides to look up an old girlfriend. When he locates Julie (Rene Russo), he enlists her support to help him from being captured by Vacendak. Much to Alex's surprise, he discovers that Julie now works as a top executive for a giant corporation presided over by McCandless (Anthony Hopkins). Julie, separated from Alex for almost twenty years, must decide whether to renew their relationship. But there is not much time for thought by either party, since Vacendak is still coming after Alex. ~ Paul Brenner, Rovi
An excellent selection if you're having "Bad Movie Night".
The 1/2 a star is for Amanda Plummer's foul-mouthed kick-ass nun...a great character in a bad, bad movie.
This one is a sci-fi parady, much like Demolition Man, although Sandra, Wesley, and Sylvestor made a little better movie. Freejack is kinda fun and light in a sci-fi setting.
The only one who can act in this is Hopkins. He can carry a film with just one line but unfortunately he is not in many scenes. Emilio should stick to directing. Do not wast your time.
The story line had some promise, but they ended up with your typical, low-budget post-apocalyptic attempt at being simultaneously profound and out of control. Not worth your time. The Terminator did a much better job with a somewhat related concept.
couldn't watch movie due to the fact that the disc arrived with a split straight through to the middle of the disc. Might have occured during shipping seeing as how non-protective the shipping wrapper is. Dissapointing to say the least.
