The second sequel to the 1976 horror hit The Omen finds Damien Thorn assuming the full mantle of the Antichrist and preparing for a final, all-out battle with "the Nazarene." Now in his thirties, Damien (Sam Neill) has elevated the family business, Thorn Industries, into the world's biggest multinational corporation. A little bit of black magic paves the way for Damien to become ambassador to England and the head of an international youth council. He soon uses this platform to amass an army of followers to do his bidding. But when Damien notices the confluence of three stars in the sky on March 24, he gets worried about the second coming of Christ. So he orders his minions to kill all the babies born on that day, warning them: "Fail, and you will be condemned to a numbing eternity in the flaccid bosom of Christ." Damien even orders his faithful private secretary, Harvey Dean (Don Gordon), to commit infanticide on his own kid, just because the guy's wife gave birth on the wrong day; a nasty incident involving laundry-room implements soon follows. Meanwhile, Damien romances Kate Reynolds (Lisa Harrow), a beautiful television anchorwoman who feels like a moth drawn to Damien's charismatic flame -- even after he brutally sodomizes her to show her how the world looks through his eyes. Things come to a head when Brother DeCarlo (Rossano Brazzi), one of a secret cabal of monks who have assembled the seven Daggers of Meggido in hopes of assassinating Damien, reveals to Kate that the Antichrist has taken her son (Barnaby Holm) under his wing. Although The Final Conflict was the final theatrical installment of the Omen series, the made-for-TV Omen IV: The Awakening appeared a decade later. ~ Brian J. Dillard, Rovi

If you enjoy The Omen series, you should definitely watch this, the final chapter in the series. As a whole, it is not as good as Damien: Omen II or especially the original, but is essential viewing as it completes the story with the adult Damien on a rise to political power as he attempts to fulfill his destiny. If you like Sam Niell, it's very enjoyable to watch him in one of his first movie roles. The film has some great moments and scares. I agree with another reviewer that the ending is not as climactic as one would hope, but altogether this is a unique horror series - a genuine horror trilogy where each entry carries the story forward instead of being made just to keep cashing in on the success of the original.

defintely the best of the series. Could have had more scariness to it. And the ending isn't quite the climax i was hoping for. Sam Neill hams it up in a few scenes, but otherwise plays damien with delicious creepiness. Don't understand why the woman still hangs around after getting sodomized. Weird.

Of the three Omen movies, this one was the best, even though the special effects are VERY 80's. I'd love to see someone remake all three films using the latest special effects technology. Nevertheless, if you like jump out of your skin thrilers, don't miss this one.

The original Omen was one of a kind. Making sequels always leaves room for comparisons and they're not always good ones. This movie has some really violent scenes and great special effects. If you liked the first two Omen's, you'll like this too.

Pretty good - - had some suspenseful moments. Good story line - just hard to watch when the killing of all the babies started happening. That was just plain SICK !

This movie didn't have the same effect on us, like it was with 'Omen' and 'Omen 2' The scary choir music piece was missing. (watch the first two again) However, the ending did answer our questions.

34 years later 2010 and it's still one of my fave Halloween movies, actually the whole Omen 1,2 & 3 series is unique in it's story telling for it's time 1976 thru 1983 - I love all 3 movies and watched yearly during Halloween season.

I agree with Paul, if you like the Omen's - STOP with the 2nd. This one DRAGGED! It felt like the plot was swimming in molasses. There were several (okay, at least 20) places that the creepy / suspense factor could have been really well done - but it wasn't. Sam Neill is too cheesy for the devil's son. (And any mother who is as out of touch as the reporter shouldn't be surprised her son is hanging out with the devil . . .) Bad script, bad acting, bad movie.

Blood: 1/2 Cheese Factor: 4 1/2 Acting: 2 1/2 Overall: 2 1/2 The Omen series is much like the Amityville horror series in the fact that at times the films can be to boring for comfort, a good script alone cant save a film. Also Sam Neill playing the son of Satan, not quite so scary theres better people out there who could have played that role. And what was with that stupid little kid who wanted blood put on his face? F*ckin' freak! Although I must say I did enjoy the ending to this film, but take my advice unless your a die hard Omen fan stop after the second one.
