Mickey Rourke once again climbs the slippery slope of the erotically extreme in this sequel to 1986's 9 1/2 Weeks. It's been several years since John (Mickey Rourke) parted company with Elizabeth (the character played by Kim Basinger in the original film, although she doesn't appear in this sequel), but he's still obsessed by their passionate encounters. In hopes of finding her, John flies to Paris, where he instead discovers Lea (Angie Everhart), a close friend of Elizabeth's who designs high fashion clothing, and her assistant Claire (Agathe de la Fontaine). Lea is strongly attracted to John, but John is not able to let go of his obsession with Elizabeth so easily; when Lea tells John that Elizabeth has remarried, John begins to responds to her advances and they indulge in a variety of erotic games. However, in time, John learns that Lea can't always be trusted, and he realizes that their affair is not destined to last very long. Another 9 1/2 Weeks was also screened under the title Love in Paris. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

First of all it wasn't even written by the woman who wrote the first story. Which may explain why John's character is completly different, without a bit of his dominant nature. The writer turned him into a whinny, submissive, sad excuse for a man. They wrote out Elizabeth in a ludacris manner, and all around the movie has no plot or point. The first one I loved, its to bad this one was so very lame.

Bad movie - bad! Terrible dialog. Zero plot. Plastic watered down sex. Confused directing. It appears that the stars were set up on location (Paris?) and just stood around and mumbled while the cameras rolled. WORST MOVIE EVER!

Angie Everhart's portrayal of Lea was interesting. It was a bit choppy in sections.

I really thought this was a terrible film. Boring, no story and the man was a wimp, very forgettable. Nothing like the first movie. I didn't even finish it.

A 30 second tv commercial has more message, coherent action and professional acting in it than this movie. Worst movie ever seen in 45 years! What is this all about anyway? Bringing a sequel to a successful movie 11 years after the first one? By a completely different writer and director? With a now 180 degree turned main character, whining, feeling sorry for himself & insecure? And now the woman is taking on the role he played in the first one? Give me a break! What were they smoking? Mickey Rourke's face a shadow of his past self, clearly showing signs of an excessive life style, with badly colored and bolding hair............... Acting: none existing. Plot: none existing. Directing: none existing. Is it a cigarette commercial? NO! Is it a BMW car commercial? NO! Is it a travel-to-Paris commercial? NO! Is it a join-the-haute-couture-ranks commercial? NO! Is it a soft porn? NO! - those even have some warm scenes. What in the world then ..................????
