The Chinese Manchus were a northern tribal people who conquered the country and formed the last Imperial dynasty. Most Chinese considered the Manchus to be foreigners. Many patriotic Chinese formed themselves into secret groups and sought martial-arts training at the anti-Imperial Shaolin temple. In this movie, Shih, a former student at the Shaolin temple who has defected to the Manchus, leads in the effort to suppress that temple and the martial arts which came from it. The abbot of that temple is forced to hunt down the renegade monk Shih. He finds unexpected allies on the road. The film was directed by Wu Yu Sen, who later became better known to Western audiences as John Woo. ~ Clarke Fountain, Rovi

This DVD has the same error as mentioned by one of the other reviews. There is no Jackie Chan (or Samo Hung or John Woo for that matter) in the movie on this disc, just a really bad movie that has nothing to do with manchurians (shaolin warriors if you must know). All this despite the fact that Jackie's face is on the DVD cover picture. I think perhaps whoever manufactured this disc simply burned the wrong movie onto this disc. I hope blockuster removes this movie from it's list as it's just a waist of money, and precious mailing time.

I have ordered this movie after reading its details and rating. However, the "Hand of Death" DVD that I have received from Blockbuster has completely different storyline; and Jackie Chan is not even in the movie. It is quite old Chinese movie and has very bad acting. I don't recommend it.
