Fanny Hill (1983) Reviews

Fanny Hill (1983)
Member Rating:
Fanny Hill (Lisa Raines) is a buxom country maiden who arrives in the big city and quickly begins an affair with the scion of a wealthy family in this softcore version of an old British tale. When the clan patriarch dies, Fanny is ready to marry her lover until she discovers he has been unfaithful -- that sets her on a course of erotic adventures that begins in protest and ends in great wealth. By the time she has experienced almost every kind of sex imaginable -- or unimaginable -- she is a millionairess. Loosely based on the scandalous, 18th-century novel Fanny Hill: Memoirs of a Woman of Pleasure by John Cleland, which had two different cinematic incarnations in the 1960s (by Russ Meyer and Mac Ahlberg). ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

I bought this DVD not having seen it before or heard any reviews. It is FULL of nudity and sex! And when I say nudity, I mean FULL nudity, both male and female! And when I say sex, I mean the sex scenes leave very little to the imagination. This girl does nothing but have sex with any and every man she meets, and sometimes even young men, like 15 or 16. After seeing this, I am not suprised that Blockbuster does not have it in their inventory. But if anyone does get a copy of this, DO NOT watch it with children or even young people present.

2 stars for pretty countryside, appropriate music and period costumes (though some of the hairstyles don't match). the acting is mediocre. lisa raines - the star - is very pretty but she is not buxom as described. shallow film based on a notorious novel labeled "pornographic" when it was published. strung-together scenes of a young woman's sexual adventures in 18th-century England.

It was alright, fun to watch for the T & A but other than that it wasn't much of a story.
