If you have read McCullough's book you'll love this rendition. If you have not, then a familiarity with the historical time period will be useful. Led by Sinise, the cast is entirely believable, with the exception of the MacArthur part, and thoroughly convincing. Triple play for me, I'm a fan of Truman, Sinise and McCullough

Gary Sinese becomes Harry Truman in this excellent biopic based on McCollough's book. I have read the book several times and found that this movie sticks to it in dialogue and events. Provides a somewhat different perspective of Bess Truman; not the aloof hesitant First Lady, but a warm and supportive wife and mother. If you respect what Truman was ale to do upon FDR's death, his excellent character, and a long list of accomplishments- you will love this flick.

Gary Sinise who stars in this movie as Truman also stars on CSI-NY which is on TV Wednesday nights he does a great job on both of these. There is a little bit of history here in this movie Truman. Entertaining and very enjoyable.

Sinese was wonderful as Truman! the film was a quick look back into Truman's time as a county Judge, Senator, vice president to Roosevelt and then President in his own right. I learned a lot a didn't know about his time in office.

Biographical movie of past president played by Gary Sinise. Factual as much as I remember, back in the days when a president kept his nose to the grindstone. Sympathic portrayal of man working as hard and fairly as he could to do this very difficult job, recognizing whatever he does not everybody will be satisfied. As appeared at the time, he had little to no support from wife. Poor daughter the but of bad reviews for her talents as a way to get at the president. Sinese put in super performance as always.
