The Enforcer (1976) Reviews

The Enforcer (1976)
Member Rating:
Number three in the Dirty Harry series, The Enforcer equips macho cop Harry Callahan (Clint Eastwood) with a female assistant, Kate Moore (Tyne Daly). Their quarry is a terrorist organization which has kidnapped the mayor of San Francisco (John Crawford). Harry goes undercover, attempting to root out the terrorists by beating up anybody who looks at him cross-eyed. When Harry and Kate discover that the mayor is being held at Alcatraz Island, it is only a matter of time before the climactic bloodbath. The Enforcer cleared enough at the box office to warrant yet another Dirty Harry opus, Sudden Impact. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

Clint Eastwood showed sooooo much true colors in this movie! A little too much to be exact! Overall, I must say Clint continues to deliver as "Dirty" Harry Callahan!

Another awesome CE movie. Very easy to follow great action scenes. A Lot of surprises in it. There is a big surprise at the end with Harry and his partner. A very good must see CE movie. Deff, worth the watch. Once again CE is really cocky but he is in all his movies and thats what i love about him.

The third Dirty Harry film is a gem from the mid 70's. The kidnapping of the mayor of San Francisco by urban terrorist may have a parallel in the coming days. A must see for Dirty Harry fans.

Again, Clint at his best as Harry Callahan. Great San Francisco travelogue.

Classic Clint Eastwood. A must see for any fan. A little dated...not a big fan of Tyne Daly. Definite classic scense...but not one of my favorites.

I'd put this movie pretty much with Magnum Force. It was good, but it wasn't the quality film that Dirty Harry was. Action scenes were kinda mediocre, and you really just didn't care too much about the characters. I'm seeing Sudden Impact next, which I've heard is the best one of the series next to the original, so we'll see how it measures up.

Poor follow-up to Dirty Harry. Could have been good if the relationship between Eastwood and his new partner had been developed, but this relationship never develops. Weak plot, weak characters; the bad guy isn't anything like Scorpio from the first one. Not recommended.

Better than Magnum Force, not as good as Dirty Harry.
