All I Want for Christmas (1991)

All I Want for Christmas (1991)
Member Rating:
The leading lady of the Christmas tale knows just what she wants for Christmas and she lets Macy's Santa know, too. She wants nothing more than the reuniting of her recently divorced parents. Bordering on being a Miracle on 34th Street re-make, this film follows much the same theme, but the kids here get more involved as they thwart any likelihood of romantic success between their mom and her new boyfriend and try ever-so-hard to make Mommy and Daddy love each other again. A reunion does result, but it's a lackluster one and so's this film, which was generally seen as a little too contrived and way too bland. ~ Rovi

Hallie is one little girl who just wants her parents back together. What makes this special is the sweetness of little Thora Birch in the role, and the other performances including Leslie Neisen as Santa Claus...wonderful! I love this story and yes, it does have a little fantasy, but that's okay in a Christmas movie right?

This movie came out when I was a kid and I've loved it ever since... it's a family tradition to watch this. If you're a parent then this is a great movie to watch with your children. I would hold this movie up with Miracle on 34th Street. Very cute and sweet. Oh and Leslie Nelsen does a wonderful job as Santa Claus!.... R.I.P FUNNYMAN

I really liked this movie and my kids (ages 14 & 10) did as well! My kids thought it was so funny how the the brother & sister play pranks on the mom's boyfriend. Thora Birch is adorable. The brother & sister in the movie are ideal on how siblings should get along. This is a great family movie & I will rent again or buy!
