Anthropologist Dr. Brockton (Joan Crawford) believes she has discovered the missing link in this flat science fiction drama. The creature is found in a cave and brought to her laboratory to undergo tests for her research. The hairy beast with the face of a monkey loves classical music and hates rock & roll. When one of the slack-jawed yokels opens his cage, he escapes and goes on a killing rampage as he tries to return to his cave. In a gentle moment with a little girl, the beast shows a tender side that recalls a scene from Frankenstein. Soon troops are called in, despite Brockton's protest to entomb the creature by dynamiting the entrance to the cave. This was the last film for Joan Crawford, an inglorious way to end a legendary film career. ~ Dan Pavlides, Rovi

This is the "it's so bad, it's good" genre. Can’t understand that a film post "Planet of the Apes" can have such low budget makeup effects! Couldn't they spare some more "Trog" hair for that smooth body on the actor? I love Joan Crawford as she does chew up the scenery, but makes a horrid attempt at a British accent. Michael Gough was a perfect villain. It was great to see him in this early film career of his.

I love the "it's so bad, it's good genre" and this one belongs near the top of that list. Although it is very sad to see the late, great Joan Crawford in this movie, knowing it was her last movie. But it is campy fun all the way.

While I don't agree that this is the worst movie ever made it certainly isn't academy award material either. Trog (Joe Cornelius) looked like someone plopped a phony head on his body, however his acting was exemplary....joking. Goes to mans inequity to man or Troglidite as the case may be.
