Margaret Sullavan graduates from a girl's orphanage to an usherette's job at a Budapest movie theatre. Bibulous millionaire Frank Morgan makes a play for Margaret, but she keeps him at arm's length by picking a name from the phone book and insists that that's the name of her husband. The cast delivers to perfection in this early Preston Sturges script . It's a wonderful screwball comedy in a class with "Bringing Up Baby." The premise is as flimsy as most of this genre, but Margaret Sullavan is very charming, and there are several excellent supporting performances.

Great movie! Lots of fun. Hebert Marshall and Margaret Sullavan are wonderful. If you like madcap comedy, you'll love this movie.

With Willam Wyler (one of the few directors who never understood the term "mediocre film",) in the chair and acid tongued Legendary screenwriter Preston Sturges at the writer's table, the stage is set for absolute screen magic, and this little known masterpiece delivers it in spades. Margaret Sullavan, the angel faced beauty who was married to Wyler for a short period, is the heart and soul of this film, her smile lighting up the screen in every scene. the comedy is top notch, as one can always expect from Sturges, and you'll find yourself laughing hysterically for most of the film. But it's the movie's feel good message that really makes this one incredible. Do good deeds for someone, it's just that simple, and it's even more rewarding when you recieve nothing in return. Watch this movie, and you WILL feel like a million bucks when it's over.
