Disneys CHEETAH, filmed in 1989 must have indeed been the model for DUMA (2005). I am pleased to offer this film to my children. It is pure family entertainment. No magic, cursing, nudity, or sex is found in this film. It is simply a riveting and stirring story of exploration and bravery in the African wild.

Keith Koogan demonstartes his versatility as an actor; he is almost unrecognisable from the man who played Alan Partridge so well a few years later. A little bit racist though, with a lot of anti-Kenyan, and white propoganda from the children in the early part of the movie. Like American History X however, they see the error of their ways and it has a lovely, moralistic ending.

The teenage characters befriend a baby cheetah whose mother had been killed by a poacher for her hide. They learn responsibility by taking care of the cheetah and of a different culture in Kenya when they befriend a local boy. The tale of their love for the animal and each other exemplifies the best way to seek justice, truth, and preserve the creature of the wild. A good family movie.
