When a young couple (Cillian Murphy, Thandie Newton) decide to take a vacation in the wilderness, a secluded cabin located far from the reaches of civilization seems like the perfect location. But things turn sour when a crazed, injured soldier shows up at their door, claiming that a virus is sweeping through a nearby city and is headed their way. With no access to the outside world, there's no way to know if the man is telling the truth, and whether he's motivated by a real plague, by insanity, or by something even darker. ~ Cammila Albertson, Rovi

    Good movie.

There were two things that kept this from being a pretty good movie. One, zilch chemistry between the two leads. We never bought them as a couple. Two, they made so many unreal choices that wouldn't happen in real life. But then if they didn't, the movie wouldn't have been able to go on I suppose. Worth the rental on a rainy day, but don't plan a date night around it or expect much.

Slow and boring for the most part, especially the first half. Frustrating at times, brought on by characters making poor and unrealistic decisions in very serious situations. Lousy ending, depressing and hopeless, but if you like that sort of thing you might not mind. This film might have been more tolerable had it only been an hour long, or if they had actually made the story deeper and interesting enough to fill the whole 90 minutes. I was pretty disappointed by the blown potential with this one. I would have changed a lot of things had I written it myself, but that's just one person's opinion. I wouldn't recommend renting this one unless you are a huge fan of one of the actors or you're just dying to see it for some other reason.
