I really liked this movie, I would recommend this to anyone looking for a feel good movie. The hardships the people had to endure during that time, gave me a whole new perspective on how things were back then. The love story part was great and predictable but pleasant. I saw Robert Pattinson in a whole new light and he is a wonderful actor, can't wait to see what he does next.

The glue of this film was definitely the script, which was based on a great book, the animals, particularly the jack russell, and Christoph Waltz, who is in the category of actors that are legends.

It was a decent drama with good acting but the leads took a basic story and made it better. I hated the animal cruelty. Wish I would have read that earlier I wouldn't have watched the movie and not really missed much. The love story was so predictable it was boring. Christoph Waltz has to be one of the best villians to ever hit the screen. It is very easy to hate this guy. Nothing was made of the 10 year age difference between the two leads but I thought it obvious there was a decent size gap.
