In general, this is a low-budget, clumsily made thriller. This is a very peculiar movie, at times seeming like it should be airing on the Lifetime Network. There are also some quite random elements like the inclusion of several seemingly central characters who end up being pretty irrelevant to the resolution of the story. Still, Kidder's portrayal of mental illness somehow manages to be strangely poignant despite the quality of the script, especially in light of her personal battle with bipolar disorder.
