I am a huge Richard Boone fan. I have seen all the "Have Gun..." episodes, Hec Ramsey, Hombre, The Shootist, being among Mr. Boone's more popular works. But,... The Bushido Blade is a kind of movie that makes one think that a nine year old produced it! The story is okay, but the writing and acting are of very low quality. Story is totally unbelievable! My main purpose was to see what Richard Boone chose as what was to be his last starring role. I think he was drunk or (drugged) during his time on-screen. At least twice he slams his fist down on the table and exclaims something like, "(slam)That's just great. NOW what are we gonna do?" Seriously, I know he died of throat cancer, but should he have made this movie during treatment if it meant he would appear "modified" in all his scenes (which are few). BAD, BAD , BAD, but if you are a Boone fan (still am) you gotta see this one.

This was Richard Boones worst movie and his poorest showing as an actor. I know he was getting on in years and perhaps he was having physical problems when this was made.

Martial prowess; graphic violence; romance; mayhem; upper body nudity; and useless endeavor. Not bad.
