Even though this movie has Mel Gibson in it, and while most would not agree with his tirades and rants- he is, in fact, a brilliant actor. Other actors have rants (see Sean Penn), and if the curtains were pulled back on all arguments we've ever had with our spouses, I'm sure some might look at you differently as well. That being said- this movie was unique and touching- if not apropus. The directing was done as well as it could be, based on the premise of this movie. The best aspect of the film is the fantastic acting by Gibson and also strong performances by the children. This won't win any best acting awards due to politics, but it is definitely deserving of them.

Mel Gibson has always been a good actor, but he is brilliant in this role. Directed beautifully by Jodie Foster, The Beaver is an entertaining, emotionally invoking original masterpiece. If political correctness and public humiliation weren't the weapons of choice of America's elite circa 2011, this man's private life would have been kept where it should have always been - private - and the film would of had nationwide exposure and success.
