This movie (filmed in Lana'i, Hawaii) is visually stunning and well acted. This is a film version of Shakespeare's Tempest but in female form. Mirren plays Prospera, a magician who has been outcasted from her homeland with her daughter by her brother and she is out for revenge. Although I'm not into Shakepeare I thought the story was compelling and very funny. A major con for me is I had to watch it with subtitles to understand some of the dialogue. This is definitely worth a rental if you like any of the cast members, Shakespeare or fantasy films.

Helen Mirren was fabulous. I really liked the subtitiles, made it easier to understand the Shakesperean language

boring . . . turned it off after 30 mins. Just couldn't get into the old english speak, even though I should have realized, with it being a Shakespeare! Wish I had realized I could have watched it in subtitles to understand it better.
