This gorgeous production directed by Harold Prince is highly entertaining. Carreas, Marton and Ricciarelli provide rewarding performances as Calaf, Turandot and Liu respectively. Carreas in particular offers a stirring effort. I had forgotten how good he was as a young man. Lorin Maazel conducts with his usual precision. Highly recommended.
