You Move You Die (2007)
Member Rating:
His engagement ring stolen just before he was planning to propose to his longtime girlfriend Emma, hapless (but criminally violent) romantic Mike enlists the aid of his four best mates in getting the ring back so he can ask Emma's hand in marriage as planned. Over the course of the next hour, this four-man army will run, fight, and blast their way through the Auckland underworld on a single-minded mission to ensure that Mike's marriage gets off to a proper start. Unfortunately for the thieves - and anyone else who happens to get in the gang's way - quite a few people will die in the process. Shot on steadycam-mounted digital cameras over the course of just five days, You Move You Die utilizes a series of extended takes (some as long as nine minutes) in order to truly immerse the viewer in the action. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

I was very pleasantly suprised by this one, I too though the dialogue was Pulp Fiction/Res. Dogs like. This is shot basically in real time, with long single takes. The opening shot was done in a single take for about 8 mins. If you are looking for MTV style fast cuts, do not watch this movie! If you are looking for a well made, great crime caper with great dialogue, and a medium pace, watch it. You do have to stick with it, I almost turned it off after the first few minutes, but it is worth sticking with. I recommend to any who like good crime movies, ala Tarantino, but do not need flashy effects, Think Lock Stock vs. Sn*tch(they made me cut the word). or Res Dogs vs Jackie Brown. Earlier efforts that are very good.

It took awhile to get into the movie, but if you hang on for awhile it is a good movie. The things that happen throughout are really great and funny. I wish it would of had the selection to add the words for it is hard to understand their accent. I really loved this. It was refreshing and the ending was a surprise I did not guess.
