Parents be warned that this is a PG-13 movie. Several scenes with blood, a gunshot to the head, and several curse words throughout the film. This is not as sanitized as the Justice League TV series and is much darker in tone. Having said that, this is a solid animated film based off of a fantastic graphic novel. I would have liked to have seen the animation a little more polished and looking more similar to that of the graphic novel, rather than the Justice League/Batman/Superman Animated style.

I rented it before I read the reviews, but thankfully did see them before I watched it so I didn't let my 8 year old see it. It took some hits for animation in the other reviews, but I thought it was good, and that they were deliberately trying to make it look like the comics. Anyhow, I enjoyed it (despite a somewhat contrived disappearance of Superman toward the end) and think its worth a watch for older Justic League fans. I would wait until a child is 12 or older to watch it because of the occasional scenes with some blood and the sprinkling of swear words. I certainly didn't think it was any worse than the Spiderman live action movies in those terms.

Lots and lots of fun. Just be warned: this is set just after WW II. All of the heroes are well represented. Their interactions are great. And the visuals, taken straight from the book of the same name, are terrific. Only criticism, not quite enough Superman. That's okay since he's in everything else they've been putting on the shelves. What are you waiting for? Rent this!
