Member Rating:
The central "gimmick" of the comedy-adventure Twins is established early on. Unbeknownst to one another, king-sized Arnold Schwarzenegger and gnomeish Danny De Vito are twin brothers. Even better: Schwarzenegger is a mild-mannered, bookish type, while De Vito is a vitriolic troublemaker. The film takes satiric jabs at the notion of "perfect" genetics, and makes several pointed comments concerning the dangers of youthful pre-conditioning by insensitive parents. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

this is a classic comedy for anyone with a good sense of humor, some people look at a movie and say "that can't happen", those are the people who just can't laugh, enjoy this one!

I don't think the studios even bothered to digitally remaster this one, which shows you how much they would like to forget they ever released it. With all of the greater films of Schwarzenegger and DeVito out there, I think the movie honchos are quietly praying that this one eventually becomes forgotten altogether. Forgetting "Twins" is sort of difficult for viewers to do, however. In this 1980s romp, two great stars of film and screen engage in a plot that can be described as 'farcical' at best. The film's only saving grace lies in its actors, notably the typically brilliant performance of Danny DeVito and the luscious appearance of a hot young Kelly Preston. Ahhnold manages to come across as downright goofy while remaining mildly lovable. Solid three-star rating: Not the worst film I've ever seen, but probably won't be showing up on any Time Magazine film lists, either.
