I actually enjoyed this movie. It was my first Asian comedy and it was kinda cool. No kung fu, but really cool dancing lion scenes. This seems like a group that acts together often and I would watch another one of their movies. Have fun, be prepared to be pleasantly surprised.

The only redeeming parts of this ridiculous waste of film were the dancing lions. The acting and directing were sophomoric at best. The movie appeared to be targeting the under ten years old demographic. In particular, Anthony Wong's character was excruciatingly annoying as he sounded like he was trying to do a Jackie Mason imitation. The subtitles suffered from a poor translation, poor grammar, spelling errors, made up words, rapid displays and were so bad that following the movie would have been easier if the dialogue and subtitles were turned off. Despite the DTS audio option, the sound came across as stereo. As for extras, there's a trailer for the movie, a "Making of" featurette (2:13 min) and a "Databank" option with a poorly translated "Synopsis" and "Cast and Crew" credits. Not recommended.

I rented this because I used to perform lion dances with The Bamboo Monastery Kung Fu Association in Minneapolis MN during Chinese New Year. But this movie is too painful to watch. I could only watch 10 minutes. You have to be careful with Chinese comedies in cinema. Well too often they can be childish and idiotic and moronic and primitive. Even worse than Jerry Lewis. This stuff seems to fly there. On the other hand, if you are a Will Ferrell fan you'll probably enjoy this movie immensely.
