Steeped in Argentinean literary history, specifically the work of Domingo F. Sarmiento, Matias Pineiro's drama The Stolen Man stars Maria Villar as Mercedes, a woman who steals from museums, fencing the goods to different antique dealers. One day while she is out, Mercedes spies Andres (Francisco Garcia Faure), the fiancé of her best friend Leticia (Romina Pauila), being very friendly with another woman. Mercedes decides to follow the pair. The film screened in competition at the 2007 Buenos Aires Film Festival. ~ Perry Seibert, Rovi
