Stephen Judson's documentary The Alps transports audiences to the majestic yet incomparably deadly ice wall known as The Eiger, situated nearly fourteen thousand feet about Switzerland. At that location, a courageous alpinist whose father died in a climbing accident amid the same peaks attempts to scale his way to the very top. I've met John Harlin III, who told me that this climb was very, very personal. This film portrays his personal journey very well. The extras include the logistics of filming the scenes on precipices and ledges - which is as amazing as the journey to climb the Eiger itself.

It was interesting. Being a skiier, mountain person and a visitor to Switzerland I enjoyed the scenery. The story was not that interesting but realistic.

This is the best IMAX I've watched so far. Great photography and visuals that will leave you wondering "how did they film that?" Actually, I enjoyed the "making of...." feature as much as if not more than the actual movie!
