Tanya (D.D. Winters), a drop-dead-gorgeous model, lives with violently mercurial artist Lobo (Richard Sargent -- not to be confused with Dick Sargent from Bewitched). Subjected to Lobo's constant abuse, Tanya dreams of escaping to a desert island. Her imagination seemingly knows no bound; once she's reached her fantasy island, Tanya is befriended by a blue-eyed ape. It gets better -- Lobo, making a guest appearance in Tanya's dream, locks the poor girl in a cage, then begins behaving like an ape himself. How could you have missed this one? ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

If you're a fan of the incredibly beautiful and desirable, if obscure, Vanity, you'll enjoy this film. If not, you probably won't. Gorgeous South Sea isle-type scenery, intensely exotic and romantic, and plenty of Vanity nudity. What more could a Vanityite ask for? The story is actually bizarre and quirky enough to be interesting. Although the acting is amateurish, Vanity's soft, sensual voice would still sound good if she were reciting the phone book. I also felt the DVD transfer was quite adequate. Not HD by any means, but sufficient resolution to make out the details that count. I'm embarrassed to say I really liked this obviously super-low-budget junk movie.

This movie is what happens when ALL the wrong people (directors that can't direct, actors that can't act, editors that can't edit, gaffers that can't...do whatever it is that gaffers do, I'll bet) come together to make a movie. Unless you remember Prince's protog'e Vanity of 'Vanity Six' fame and have always wanted to see her naked, there's NO REASON to watch this crap. Vanity (listed in the credits as D.D. Winters) spends most of the movie showing ample T and A, but no depth at all in her acting. Speaking of credits, the jacket that this disc came in refers to Richard Sargent as: "...yes it's 'Darren Stevens'". THAT IS A LIE. This movie is crime enough; Blockbuster shouldn't compund it by misleading the public to believe that Dick "The Real Darren" Sargent had anything to do with it.
