Adapted for TV, this is a Stephen King story in which an aspiring writer and an alcoholic poet (with a metal plate in his head, no less) literally stumble over a long-buried spaceship while walking in the woods. It starts glowing green when uncovered and soon everyone in town has green eyes, their teeth fall out and they act out all of their fantasies (violent or otherwise). Guess who's immune to the power of this alien spaceship? You got it--our good old metal-headed poet can save the day if he can get it together enough to do so. Really more of a B movie than most King horrorfests. ~ Tana Hobart, Rovi

both the previous reviewers obviously have never read the book. Dont judge the book by the movie. I dont tout the movie as it is a little less than average although it has a great cast it suffers the same fate that most books do when made into a mini series.

This film is of a very particular ilk - namely, the sort that embarrasses the viewer as he/she watches it by themselves. Though the acting is particularly abysmal, one gets the sense that the director was routinely wowed by each first cut, having experienced no acting chops above the level of Lions Club local theater. So why push the cast harder when their first cut is so wonderfully mediocre? The most frightening part of this scary movie is the well-executed titling on the DVD cover. The actual content of the film was terrifying in much the same was as is the realization that you forgot your cellphone at home. In other words, you'll live. Unfortunately, you'll likely put that in the liability column after the second hour of this C list piece of celluloid garbage.

Just like my review of the Langoliers, this dvd totally disappoints. They split it on the front and back into 2 parts, but still, at only 4gb or there abouts per side, this 3 hr movie is encoded horribly. Blocky to the point it's a waste of a rental as was the Langoliers. If they release this redone, I may try to watch it again, but I was really dissapointed with the quality. If you really want to see the story/film, be ready to watch a terrible quality dvd.
