Squirm (1976)

Squirm (1976)
Member Rating:
The success of Willard, in which a young man trained his pet rats to kill at his command, inspired a rash of horror films featuring animals run amok, including snakes (Stanley), frogs (Frogs) and even rabbits (Night Of The Lepus). Squirm was one of the more interesting films spun off this subgenre, in which a town is terrorized by bloodthirsty worms who've been angered by a downed power line during a rainstorm. Better than it sounds, and packs a few good scares (especially if worms make you squeamish). ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

This is a 1970's era animals-run-amok film, which was popular after 'Jaws' came out in the decade. It's a fun, low-budget movie that goes great with pop corn on a Friday night/rainy Saturday afternoon. It is gory but, not so much compared with today's 'torture' films. Rent this one along with 'Grizzly' for a fun time with animals-in-the woods horror fun!

For creature feature lovers like me, this campy horror flick is perfect. Its corny, the effects and acting are lame, and the story is beyond belief ... but its gross enough to overshadow all that nonsense. ENJOY!
