Living Death (2006)
Member Rating:
Greg Bryk (A History of Violence) stars in the direct-to-video gothic thriller Living Death as the wealthy Victor Harris, a sadistic, incorrigible beast of a man whose sole pleasure comes from physically beating his wife, Elizabeth (Buffy: The Vampire Slayer's Kristy Swanson), and torturing the others who surround him. Because Victor refuses to grant Elizabeth a divorce, she and Victor's attorney, Roman (Joshua Peace) scheme to lethally poison Victor and blame his death on illicit drugs. The plot appears to progress smoothly, and Victor is quickly buried in the ground. But all is not well - for the substance has only driven Victor into a state of paralysis, that preserves his five senses and his awareness of the goings on around him. He quickly regains control and escapes from his earthly prison, then traps Elizabeth and Roman in a secret chamber in his mansion and prepares an ugly onslaught of vengeance. Erin Berry directs. ~ Nathan Southern, Rovi

This wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, it had some decent things going for it, worth the rental.

I watched this movie just out of curiosity. I figured if Kristy Swanson was in it, there had to be a few redeeming qualities to the film. I was wrong. I fell for the trick. The photo on the dvd cover happens in the first 10 minutes of the film. Beyond that we get the typical story involving a cheating greedy wife, an excentric jerk of a husband, and a rat fink lawyer. It's not much of a horror movie. It's actually just a typical boring relationship film. It's a little gory, but has a low body count, no nudity, and bad acting. So if you happen to be into that sort of thing. Enjoy. but my recommendation is to move on and find something else.

Well Kristy has just let herself go and she still can't act, this flick was so-so, I could not sit through it again, it was very predictable, but had a few good short parts like in the torture room, oh poor goldfish...Enjoy.
