This movie isn't exactly what i expected to be honest. I expected alot of random fighting like ong bak but the truth is it actually had a story line. The last fight seemed pretty fake but it was still pretty cool. Most martial arts movies have no reason for things happening but this one actually had one so it made it pretty good. The teacher looks way too young to think she is really a teacher but meh some people age well? Its a good his and her movie if you ask me. Watched it with my girl friend and there was something for each of us. It was a fun movie night ^_^.

i give it a good four stars it had a pretty good plot. The actors had their corny parts but the fight seens and the training was great.

On the one hand, there is a forbidden Chinese love story between a student and teacher. On the other the main character Bond learns kung-fu in order to win a kick boxing tournament. They don't need each other to survive so I don't think they should have been thrown together. The mini-bio Blockbuster gives is completely false. A "fast paced duel to the death" this movie is not. I am sure most of the people who rent this movie expect to see something similar to Bloodsport given the "Kumite" title. This is something closer to what you'd see watching K1 Fights with some instances of free-style. The bad guy Tank is more fun to watch. Having the Master Killer Gordon Liu in it was fun until I realized he wasn't fighting and wasn't even good at being a coach. I also liked Bond's priest trainer for the little he was in. So in the end, if you want a forbidden love story, watch the first 40 min. If you want to skip to the training and fight scenes, start 40 min in.
