As co-directed by neophytes Peter John Ross and John Whitney, the low-budget opus Horrors of War represents an ambitious attempt to meld into a cohesive whole two distinct and seldom cross-pollinated genres: gore-filled horror and the WWII-era war picture. The action circulates around a diabolical plot by Hitler's minions to manufacture grotesque, oversized canine mutants - lycanthrope-like creatures immune to bullets and capable of taking out an entire military battalion with a single attack. Hitler realizes this insane plan via one of the physicians responsible for engineering Nazi medical experiments: the psychotic Dr. Heinrich Schaltur. A military man, Lieutenant John Schmidt, has the misfortune of stumbling onto one of these creatures unaware; he barely manages to escape with his life, then subsequently decides to team up with Captain Joe Russo to find Dr. Schaltur and put a stop to the plot before it can fully gestate. ~ Nathan Southern, Rovi

Very disappointing. This was definitely a situation where someone said, "Hey guys! Let's make a horror movie!" I can forgive a low budget, but not minimal creativity. The story was simply far too ambitious to take on with such a meagre budget (grenades look like smoke bombs). The script was little more than various monsters running around and getting shot at. What's worse, the DVD packaging is completely fraudulent as both the write-up and cover do not realistically portray what a sophomoric mess the film really is. These guys could barely keep a straight face during their "documentary" of the film. They are thieves. Don't let this movie waste 90 minutes of your precious time.

This movie was a "b" film, so it had a lower budget then most war inspired movies. Knowing that, I thought it was a very creative display of talent. The director took two completely different movie genres and molded them togther. *Sponsored Post

If you have yet to see one of the worst movies ever made, then this is on that top ten list. It is so bad in every respect that you will be rolling on the floor laughing. It is so funnily bad that you need to watch it with some buddies while keeping the liquor and snacks flowing. You and your friends will definitely have a lot of material to work with for making a running commentary while the movie is rolling. Words can't describe what a horror this movie is.....you have to see it for yourself.
