Since I have been home recovering from surgery I have a lot of free time on my hands and find I am too weak to do much of anything. A long time Sci-fi fan (I watched the original Battlestar Glactica series while in college in the 70's) I have thoroughly enjoyed watching the most recent series. Each episode is exciting and entertaining, well worth the rental.

How the heck can something as insanely good as this season of this series NOT be available? Honestly, this is intolerable.

My 2nd favorite TV series of all time after The Wire, tied with Breaking Bad. LA complex, Dickensian study of human nature, meticulously plotted like a great novel, each episode a chapter in a much larger whole. Where The Wire used the cliche world of the cop show to jump off from and shatter our preconceptions, Battlestar Galactica uses the sci-fi series the same way. It is about what it means to be human, morality under the pressure of war, fathers and sons, impossible loves, metaphors for real world politics.
