Aside from the typical drawbacks of low-budget sci-fi: bad acting, horrible script, shoddy directing; a good 80% of the visual effects in this film are not all that bad. This is the kind of flick where you sit around with friends and mock the characters as they deliver line after horrible line of dialogue. You might even have fun by guessing which actors are friends of the director and which are actual actors. Though your guess is as good as mine.
