Excellent film. We studied this time of history this year and it gave a realistic view for him to see how the East Germans lived under communist regime - so different than the freedom we have here in America. Absolutely essential for families to see and be reminded of the sacrifices people have made for us to be FREE!!

This is an excellent movie to show our children the terror East Germans lived under during the time the wall stood. My 13 year old son was on the edge of his seat. Keep it available for future generations that don't remember the wall existing.

I watched this film after a fellow German teacher recommended for understanding East Germany and the incredible hold that the Stasi had on the East German citizens. Some of the dialogue was a bit stilted, but I found the story very intriguing and very believable. It would be good if they re-released this movie with a description of where the families are now, after the fall of the wall. For getting a good feel for life in East Germany, I would highly recommend the film.
