Am not really a fan of this genre, but I really enjoyed Layer Cake. It's easy to see why Craig ended up as Bond from his role in this movie as the cool-headed clever drug dealing middleman. Dumbledore is a dirty crime boss! Excellent production all around. Don't know much of Craig before, but as I dig up his old movies, I'm more impressed. He's had a solid run even before the Bond craze.

Yeah, it has the hip feel of "Snatch" and "Lock, Stock" but it's not much like those movies. The story is intricate and you have to pay attention to follow the double-crossing and back-stabbing. Daniel Craig does a great job as a dealer who hates guns. It was refreshing to see a film of this genre that relied more on storytelling than it did on gunfights and over-the-top action. This is not a movie for fans of Bruckheimer-type action. Good story and you'll be wondering what Jude Law was thinking when he cheated on Cienna Miller. Fool.

The perfect chaser for cockney gangster yarns that take themselves too seriously. People who don't like this movie probably don't understand its a satire told from a very delusional point of view. Listen to the intro and ask yourself if you believe a word of it and if the hero follows his own advice... My biggest problem was that there were too many blink-and-you-miss-it scenes that were vital to the plot. In one scene we had to do a frame by frame to see who got whacked.
