Obviously you shouldn't see this film unless you are a true Lucio Fulci fan. I really think this film has gotten a bad rep and has been called Fulci's worst film but I disagree. I went into this film with very low expectations and found it quite entertaining. As an added bonus there is a throat slitting scene and a decapitation! Not to mention a score by Riz Ortolani (Cannibal Holocaust). The story (by the great Dardano Sacchetti) is very original and the futuristic FX were quite good for the time. As I said before you probably won't like it unless you are a true Fulci fan. R.I.P. Lucio Fulci.
I wanted to like it, just because it was a Fulci, but I just couldn't enjoy it. I'll be honest - it just really failed to deliver on my expectations. Pacing was slow - painfully slow. Plot holes you could drive a truck through, inconsistencies.... I guess it was a Fulci, afterall.
I am a big Fulci fan. I went into this with low expectations, but was pleasantly surprised. Very much in the vein of "Running Man" as they say in the intro. I'm glad Troma released this otherwise I doubt I could have been able to see it.
